Kitchen/living/dining Extension with aluminium sliding glazing connecting to stone terrace
This house was fully restored to its original glory with the reinstatement and repair of the Victorian period details.
Due to its irregular form the extension was given a flat roof which meant the views from the first floor of the house could be retained. The new extension incorporates lots of glazing, a new rear entrance as well as the utilities and practical aspects of the house.
The integration of a large quantity of hidden structure meant it was possible to have such a large open, uninterrupted space and the inclusion of the light-wells ensures the new living space receives as much light as possible.
The extension is very successful in that it provides much needed additional accommodation in a practical layout while not extending over the original footprint.
