Lime render finish provides a soft natural tone to this new country house set on top of a drumlin
This home sits atop an impressive 28-acre site. At 950 sq m including garaging and a generous “granddad flat” it is colossal but, despite its scale and some of its luxurious finishing, we, along with our clients, were determined to keep it as a grand but understated family home.
It is beautiful and undeniably huge but there is little that is flash and it is definitely short on ‘bling’. The main house is linked to a smaller stone wing by a curved gallery, lending the building a much more organic feel typical of older houses that have spread and extended over time. It could have been there forever.
