Flow of movement within dwelling improved due to spacious modern design rear extension

The rear of this 1930’s detached dwelling has been opened up with a contemporary-design extension to improve the flow between the rooms and to enhance the impression of space. The kitchen/living/dining area steps down into a vaulted-ceiling living space on one side and through a concealed sliding door into a playroom on the other side.

Upstairs, a study and a new master bedroom suite with a balcony that looks onto the garden, have been created.

A modern palette of light blue and grey colours has been employed on the rear elevation elements which include the aluminium sliding doors, the zinc cladding, and on the recycled woodchip decking.  All items require little maintenance and will look good for years to come.
